Description: "The Pont de l'Alma and its sculptured flame became a famous place since the death of Lady Diana. The bridge is entirely built in metal, and it replaced an ancient bridge destroyed in 1970-72. It carries on its center, the famous statue called the ""Zouave"" which indicates the Seine's level. It was designed by Georges Diebolt and represents a soldier of the armies which participated in the battle of 1854. The ancient bridge commemorated the victory of Alma in Crimee."
